Reference Books

Allah has elevated the status of knowledge is very high and so knowledge is a thing of value and a treasure, so it is something that should be sought. Allah commands that people seek knowledge.

And We sent not before you (O Muhammad (ﷺ)) but men to whom We inspired, so ask the people of the understanding if you do not know. [21:7]

We should aim to seek knowledge, and those who find it should treasure it.

Abu Hurayrah reported: The Messenger of Allah, (ﷺ)) said, “The wise saying is the lost property of the believer, so wherever he finds it then he has a right to it.” [Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2687]

For those who go out in search for knowledge, they are blessed.

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah’s (ﷺ)) said: “If anyone travels on a path in search of knowledge, Allah makes the path of Paradise easy for him.” [Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2646]

Waqf (Islamic Endowments)

Waqf is a type of ongoing charity that is donated so it serves as a benefit to people. This can be building such as mosques, or smaller items such as books of knowledge that people ban read or benefit from. It is a means for the one who donates to accrue reward each time his donation is used, and is amongst the most noble deeds that benefit in the hereafter.

It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The rewards of the good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are: Knowledge which he taught and spread; a righteous son whom he leaves behind; a copy of the Qur’ān that he leaves as a legacy; a mosque that he built; a house that he built for wayfarers; a canal that he dug; or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health. These deeds will reach him after his death.'” [Sunan ibn Mājah, Hadith 424]

If you wish to donate something to the mosque, please note that we only accept items with the following conditions.

Firstly, we only accept those items which are beneficial in our view and we have the capacity to store them.

Secondly, we insist on reserving the right to distribute them or dispose of them by giving in charity, or destroying them when we no longer consider them as having further use, or we no longer are able to maintain them.
