Annual Community Iftar 2023

~ Taste Ramadan – a simple idea to encourage our non-Muslims friends, work colleagues and neighbours to join in and experience some of the the blessings of the month of Ramadan.

~ On Saturday 1st April 2023, mosques scattered in different areas throughout the UK will be opening their doors to the community to take part in an Iftar, and Islamic Centre Edgware will be on of those mosques!

~ The Iftar is the meal eaten by Muslims after sunset following a day of fasting, where they have abstained from consuming food and drinking fluids from the break of dawn.

~ To experience some of the blessing of Ramadan, why not invite our non-Muslims friends, work colleagues and neighbours to take the challenge and fast with us from the break of dawn till sunset followed by a visit to our mosque where they are invited to enjoy the evening meal with the local community. Don’t worry if the fast something that they can’t do, as we would still invite them to come and share the iftar meal.

~ For Taste Ramadan, will be providing:

~ A short talk about fasting and the month of Ramadan

~ A guided tour of the mosque

~ An opportunity to observe the salah – the ritual prayer and its recitation

~ Iftar – shared evening meal as the community breaks their fast
